Energysense is an independent population study into household energy consumption carried out by Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. The study gives us an insight into the consequences of the energy transition and which measures work for which homes and residents. We follow frontrunners in the energy transition, large-scale renovation projects by housing corporations and district or village-based approaches initiated by the municipality or residents themselves. By measuring the effects of measures and approaches, we hope to gain an understanding of what works and what doesn't and thus to facilitate the choices that residents, government bodies, local energy cooperatives and housing corporations face.
Sign up to have your energy meter read. As a participant you will also receive a newsletter, which appears once every two months. This keeps you informed about the studies and more. But of course you can also consult the news page or follow us on social media.
The more households that participate in the survey, the more knowledge will be gathered to support the energy transition. Join us!
For Energysense, we need information. We obtain research data from smart meters, among other things, and sometimes ask households additional questions. Household data is never shared without explicit permission from the residents. As a household, you can participate in the study yourself by signing up. By participating you can gain more insight yourself (e.g. because we share expertise and research results), as well as, by sharing experiences with us, help others to make choices within the energy transition. Even if you do not (yet) have a smart meter, you can sign up for this unique study.
